Death is the destiny we all share.

I had the honor of designing and illustrating this Brazilian edition of A morte de Ivan Ilitch (The Death of Ivan Ilytch), one of Tolstoy’s many masterpieces. This edition also includes two other classic tales — Father Sergius and The Kreutzer Sonata — all centered around the theme of death. The cover features the silhouette of a man standing in a vast, empty field, contemplating the sunset — a symbol of transformation and finality. In the background, a chain of mountains forms the outline of three lifeless faces, each representing one of the three stories in the book.
